My Story

As a self-taught photographer from my early teens, I have been “Chasing Light” ever since, I love the colour and light that Sunrises and Sunsets bring and the fact that no two days are the same, I live for each “Golden Hour” and wonder what mother nature is going to provide today. Nearly all of my photos are captured during Golden Hour. I currently shoot with a FujiFilm XT5, XE4 and various Film Camera, I Also use DJI Mini 3 Pro and Air2S Drones.

Definition of the Golden Hour

The golden hour is a photography term that describes the period just after sunrise or just before sunset, when the sun is low in the sky. It’s called the golden hour because the angle of the sun creates light in the yellow range — very warm with a golden hue. When the sun is near the horizon, its rays have to travel through more of the atmosphere, which creates a softer, more diffused light.

The warm sunlight that is characteristic for the “golden hour” most likely occurs when the Sun is between 6 degrees below and 6 degrees above the horizon. By this definition, the golden hour begins with Dawn in the morning and ends with Dusk in the evening.
